5 Key Takeaways From Fashion Week
Fashion month is always one of my favorite times of the year. For a few weeks, the fashion world moves from New York to London, Milan, and finally Paris, and suddenly every runway show, street style look, and designer collection starts hinting at what we’ll all be wearing next season.
Of course, not everything we see on the runway translates directly into real life (some looks are definitely more art than outfit). But fashion week is still the best place to spot the big ideas shaping the season.
Here are some of the trends that really stood out to me this fashion week.
1. Texture Is Everywhere

From woven leather and fringe to layered fabrics and sculptural materials, clothes weren’t just about color or silhouette; they were about how the fabric looked and moved.
Bottega Veneta in particular leaned heavily into texture, playing with materials that created very dramatic runway moments.
I love how interesting these looks are visually. They’re beautiful on the runway and feel very artistic. But if I’m honest, some of these textured pieces feel a little less practical for everyday wear. They’re the kind of looks that photograph amazingly but might be harder to translate into a normal wardrobe.
Still, the idea behind the trend is very wearable: adding one textured piece to an outfit, like a woven bag, a textured coat, or a fringe detail, can make a simple look much more interesting.
2. Sheer Fabrics and Lace Are Still Going Strong

Across multiple shows, designers played with transparency, lace dresses, sheer skirts, and delicate fabrics layered over the body.
Personally, I think this trend works best when it’s subtle. Full sheer outfits can feel a little intimidating for everyday life, but sheer layering pieces, like a lace blouse or a semi-transparent skirt, can look beautiful when styled the right way.
Even just a sheer sleeve or lace detail can add a very feminine touch to an outfit.
3. Statement Coats Are Stealing the Show

Long structured coats, oversized wool coats, dramatic trench coats. Designers clearly treated coats as the centerpiece of the outfit.
And honestly, this is one of my favorite runway trends because coats are actually one of the easiest things to translate into real life.
A beautiful coat can completely transform a simple outfit. You could be wearing jeans and a basic sweater, but once you add a strong coat, the whole look suddenly feels styled and intentional.
If there’s one piece worth investing in for the colder seasons, it might just be a really great coat.
4. Burgundy and Deep Tones Are Everywhere

Another thing I couldn’t help noticing was how many collections featured deep, rich colors, especially burgundy and dark wine tones. There’s something about burgundy that instantly makes an outfit look more elevated and sophisticated. It feels a little softer than black but still very chic.
I think this is one of the easiest trends to adopt. Even something small, like a burgundy bag, shoes, or blazer, can give an outfit a completely different feel.
5. Bigger Bags Are Back

Many designers showed oversized totes and structured bags that actually look practical enough to carry daily.
Personally, I’m very happy about this shift. Tiny bags might look cute, but they’re not always realistic for everyday life. A larger bag feels more functional and also gives outfits a slightly more relaxed, effortless look.
And let’s be honest, sometimes we actually need space for more than just lipstick.
